Burettes are used to dispense precise volumes of liquid, and are an essential piece of equipment for many laboratory procedures.
To use a burette, first ensure that it is properly calibrated. Fill the burette with the liquid to be dispensed, and then open the stopcock to allow a small amount of liquid to flow out. Place the burette tip over the container into which the liquid will be dispensed, and then open the stopcock fully to allow the liquid to flow out until the desired volume has been reached. Finally, close the stopcock and empty the burette into a waste container.
